Okay, so I've procrastinated long enough and it's about time I shared these photos. I went back to my Indiana hometown with my Tennessee family over Memorial Day weekend and it was really nice. I got to see not only my family, but my wonderful friends who I've been missing like crazy!

First wedding cake icee of the summer! It tastes AMAZING.

I pretty much got with my friends the second I crossed the Indiana border. I hadn't seen these two since November! We whipped the hookah out and had a baby of a bonfire. I was trying to make time for everyone and it was kind of hectic and I still don't think I'm caught up on my sleep from those nights, but it was so worth it. My two friends in the photos above have been around since middle school and I'm so thankful for such consistent friendships, even after moving away from each other.

I went exploring through the downstairs of my grandparents' house. Most of things above have always been there, but I never paid much attention to them before. My grandpa collects a lot of really cool stuff, like newspaper clippings of gangsters from the 1920s, his war medals, old photographs of our ancestors, and that Rolling Stones poster. Isn't that funny? "They didn't show," he said.

As much as I hated my hometown when I lived there, it's still where I'm from. My family, friends, much-traveled roads, and memories of all kinds still reside there and I have realized over time that it is important to remember that. Those things are what have made me up. Those things are apart of me and  embracing that is a good thing. Moving to Nashville is one of the best things that has happened to me. I used to think that just simply getting away from where I was from made it the best, but over that weekend I also realized that I appreciated the time with my loved ones and on the roads I knew so well all the more since moving.
