When I was making my coffee this morning, I heard a dull roar suddenly and looked out my kitchen window to see that it was raining down while the sun still shined. It's a rare thing that I always take much comfort in. It's beautiful. It's one of those little things. So, I started thinking about the other little things I appreciate and thought I'd share.
The way coffee swirls when you pour in creamer.
The beautiful wash of golden light that lit candles cast over things, and people.
Driving with the windows down and the heat turned up on a chilly day.
Being so engrossed in a book that you are completely unaware of your surroundings in reality.
Waking up to light rolls of thunder and rain in the morning.
The way honey looks as it drizzles out, all golden and pretty, into your cup of tea. It looks magical.
Walking through the dead leaves in the fall. I love that sound.
Late-night cereal.
Quoting the most hilarious movies with my cousins at the most random times.
When the moon looks huge and golden in the sky. Or when it looks like Cheshire cat's smile. That's the best.
Twinkling white lights that wrap up the trees downtown.
Receiving a letter or package in the mail.
Wearing red lipstick.
Libraries.
There is so much more to add. When you stop and breathe, forget about your Smart Phone and Instagram feed, and just think about the little blessings that go overlooked quite often... It feels good. What are some of the little things you appreciate? Leave a comment, or join me with this on your blog and I'll check it out!
