Watermelon + Cilantro Infused Water


 

One of the things on my to-do list this summer was to make infused water. For once I'm on a health kick that's been lasting and I'm all about having healthier options in my house now. I've been trying to drink more water, but let's face it, water get's boring. I'm always wanting the sugary stuff: sweet tea, lemonade, soda, etc. My sweet tooth is a wild beast that cannot be tamed. Don't even get me started on eating sweets. Anyway, Free People's blog posts some pretty cool recipes from time to time, and this was one from their infused water recipes post! I just so happened to have watermelon in my fridge and fresh cilantro growing out on my back deck, so it worked out well.


This blend was very tasty and refreshing. I just followed along with the same recipe and filled my jar up halfway with watermelon, a few cilantro leaves, water, and popped it in the fridge for about four hours. And waaah-lahhh, a healthy, tasty summer drink. 


I'm really excited to try the other two concoctions featured on their blog. I'm looking forward to creating my own as well! I think I'm definitely going to have to make a big pitcher of this stuff for when my friends come and visit!
