What Happened to Brooches?

I've always thought brooches were pretty cool. When I was younger, my grandmother gave me a few. My mom passed a lot of her jewelry to me through the years, including the brooch pictured above. I love it because not only did my mom wear it when she was in her twenties, living in California, but it appears to be an art deco girl from the 1920s, my favorite era! Unfortunately, I never see these things for sale anywhere. Not where I tend to shop, anyway.

Emmy Rossum, one of my favorite actresses, posted on Instagram how she wanted to bring the brooch back and asked her followers to post a picture of their's with the tag #BringingBroochesBack. I thought that was super cool, so I went and grabbed this gem that I had actually forgotten about and snapped a picture! I'm totally going to try to bring this trend back. Brooches are a unique way of putting your own spin to an outfit. You can flaunt your personality through them!
