2/365: Great Gatsby

Today was the second day of the photo challenge, and I was very excited to get started when I woke up this morning! I had all of these ideas come to mind and couldn't wait to make them come to life. The reality of that was my ideas require a lot more than I had thought about. Part of the learning experience. The photos weren't turning out due to not having a tripod, or even an extra person at hand, so the idea became a frustrating task. But I reminded myself that this is called a challenge after all, and that's what I've been wanting. Challenges.

So, I let the original idea float to the back of my mind for another day when I have what I need and decided to keep it indoors. I think the cold weather was making me even more frustrated, honestly. So I ended up also working with warmer tones instead of cool ones like I had originally planned on doing today ironically. I like the warmth and simplicity of these.

As noted, the book in the photos is The Great Gatsby. When I was in high school, this was one of the books we had to read in class, but we skipped through a lot of it because we didn't "have enough time." Although I never read it wholly, I fell in love with the story. This year I'm going to try to read 30 books, 6 of them being classic novels. I plan on reading this one properly!
